Local steward
Peter Hollens
I live in Eugene, and I am building This Week in Eugene because finding something good to do here should not require checking a dozen calendars, social feeds, venue pages, and flyers.
The goal is practical: keep Eugene, Springfield, and nearby Lane County events current, searchable, source-linked, and easy for locals to correct. AI helps with sorting, drafting, and checking, but source links and human review are the trust layer.
I am especially interested in the use cases my own family runs into: date nights, family-friendly plans, live music, free community events, visitor-worthy weekends, and activities that are easy to miss unless someone is watching the local sources closely.
Source first
Every event should keep a link back to the original organizer, venue, or public calendar.
Corrections welcome
If a date, price, venue, or source is wrong, the correction loop matters more than pretending the feed is perfect.
Local before loud
Growth only works if the calendar is useful enough for Eugene people to come back on purpose.
Send a source, correction, or idea
The fastest way to improve the calendar is to point us at reliable local sources: venue calendars, city pages, library feeds, school or campus calendars, recurring markets, nonprofit events, and organizer pages.
