About This Event

We’re heading into peak preservation season! Join Kevin Prier this Saturday, August 15th for an educational presentation on fermentation, including his recipe for homemade sauerkraut. Fermentation has been a staple method of food preservation for thousands of years. Sauerkraut is a simple way of getting into fermentation. It can be as simple as cabbage and salt, or you can add all manner of embellishments like garlic, herbs, or other vegetables. The method for this demo only needs wide-mouth jars and lids instead of an expensive, fancy crock. This In Season educational presentation starts at 11AM and 12PM inside the Pavilion, and is FREE to attend! About the presenter: “Kevin Prier has been teaching sustainable living skills under the Urban Homesteading header through Eugene Rec and River Road Community Center for over 12 years. He also offers private classes and gardening consultations through his private business Suburban Homecraft.”
