About This Event
The University Opera Ensemble is open to all members of the university community by audition only. All SOMD music majors must have their studio teacher's permission to participate. AUDITION DETAILS Auditions for the February 2027 opera, Idomeneo by Mozart, will take place Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.We will also be performing an extensive Opera Scenes Program in May 2027.SIGN UP FOR AN AUDITION HEREWHAT TO PREPARE Please email Dr. Karen Esquivel or Dr. Gustavo Castro for the music if you want to audition for a specific role. If you are interested only in the chorus, you can bring in a Mozart aria. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is a full-year course.Bring a one-page resumé and headshot, if you have one, to your audition.
